How to install halo extensions

Halo extensions are by far our fastest method for long, full hair. Below we show you step by step how to transform your hair in two minutes with our halo extensions.

Step-by-step guide

Installing Halo extensions

1. Gather what you need

Your Halo extensions are what we call ready to wear. That means they're ready to use as soon as you receive them. But it helps to have a few things within reach before you start.

We recommend:

2. Section your hair

Gather half of your hair in a clip on top of your head, but let the front 3-4 cm of hair hang loose.
Use a tail comb to make a sharp line.

💡Picture a halo going around the back of your head. The hair you gather in a hair clip will fall down over your Halo extensions.

3. Find the wire that suits you

Our Halo extensions come with 3 different wire lengths, so you can choose the one that fits your head best. Feel free to try the different wires before clipping your Halo extensions in.

Whether you want a wire on at all is up to you – our Halo extensions can also be attached with clips alone. It's best to experiment a little here. The band takes some of the weight off your Halo extensions, so some find it more comfortable to use a wire, while others prefer to skip it.

4. Lightly backcomb your hair at the roots

Before clipping your Halo extensions in, it's a good idea to lightly backcomb your hair at the roots. It's an especially good idea if you have smooth or fine hair – it gives your clips something to grip.

Use a tail comb and backcomb lightly all along the parting where your Halo extensions will be clipped in.

5. Clip your Halo extensions in

Once you've lightly backcombed the hair, it's time to attach your Halo extensions to your own hair.

Place your Halo extensions along the parting and fasten the 3 middle clips to your own hair. The remaining 2 clips at the sides will be fastened later.

6. Put the wire in place

Pull the wire over the clip on top of your head and place it where you made your parting. The wire should sit 2-3 cm from your hairline, so you still have a little hair at the front.

7. Fasten the last clips

Once the wire is in place, you can fasten the last 2 clips at the sides.

8. Remove the clip and brush your hair

Remove the clip and let your own hair fall down over your Halo extensions.

Finish by brushing your hair, so your extensions blend naturally with your own hair.

How to take your halo extensions out

Before you hit the pillow, your halo extensions need to come out – luckily, it's both quick and easy.

Simply open the clips, and you can gently pull your halo extensions free of your own hair. Finish by brushing your hair extensions and putting them back in the box they came in – then they're ready for the next time you want an extra good hair day.
