GUIDE

Which extension method should I choose?

Never tried extensions before? Or not sure whether the hair extensions you're wearing are the best match for you? Choosing the right hair extensions doesn't have to be complicated – on this page, we help you find the perfect match.

Ready to wear or semi-permanent extensions?

There are two different categories of extensions: the ones you take on and off as needed (ready to wear) and the ones that stay in your hair for longer at a time (semi-permanent).

But which solution actually suits you best?

1. Ready to wear extensions

Ready to wear extensions are good for you if:

  • You want the freedom to change your look from day to day
  • You want to be able to install your hair extensions in minutes
  • You're looking for a quick, easy solution
  • It's your first time trying hair extensions

READY TO WEAR EXTENSIONS

Which ones should I choose?

Choose clip in extensions if you:
- Want a flexible solution that's easily adapted to your hair and head
- Want to be able to wear your hair both down and up
- Have hair that's at least 15-20 centimetres

Choose halo extensions if you:
- Want a quick, easy all-in-one solution
- Usually wear your hair down
- Have shoulder-length hair (or longer)
- Have thin or medium-thick hair

Choose ponytail extensions if you:
- Like wearing your hair up
- Want a quick, easy solution for special occasions

2. Semi-permanent extensions

Semi-permanent extensions are good for you if you:

  • Want to wake up every day with long, gorgeous hair without lifting a finger
  • Are looking for extensions that feel like your own hair
  • Want to save time in the morning - and have (extra) gorgeous hair around the clock

Which semi-permanent extensions should I choose?

When choosing semi-permanent hair extensions, it's important to start with yourself and your hair. Your hair type is crucial to how easily you can achieve a natural result with the different methods.

Just because you weren't born with it, your hair extensions can absolutely look natural. It's simply about choosing the right method for your hair type, amount and length.

Stick around and find the extensions that suit you best.

Do you have VERY thin hair?

Is your own hair extremely thin, your strands fine and perhaps not very dense – maybe your hair even seems a little see-through?

The best semi-permanent extensions for very thin hair:

All methods lie completely flat and discreet against your scalp, so they're easy to hide even in very thin hair.

Is your hair a little thin?

Do you have thin, fine hair? With this hair type, the strands actually sit densely, but the individual strands are very fine. That's why the hair can feel thin.

The best semi-permanent extensions for thin, fine hair:

Wefts, invisible wefts and tape extensions are all easy to hide in thin hair, because they lie completely flat and discreet against your scalp.

But… What about keratin extensions?
If you prefer the feel of small, individual strands and want to be able to put your hair up, your hair type also suits keratin extensions. They're easy to hide, but the installation takes a little more patience.

Do you have medium hair that's neither thin nor thick?

If your hair lands right between thin and thick, you're in luck – you can wear pretty much every type of hair extensions.

But – having more options rarely makes deciding easier. So to keep you from getting stuck, here are our recommendations anyway.

The best semi-permanent extensions for in-between hair:

We most often recommend classic wefts – because they're easy to adapt, gentle on your own hair, easy to reuse and incredibly durable in your own hair.

Smaller strands instead of wide wefts?
If you're not so keen on the idea of one wide weft in your own hair, you can fall in love with micro ring or tape extensions, which are attached in small strands/pieces.

Do you have thick, coarse hair?

Is your hair thick and strong, with thick strands that may even sit densely? Then you can in principle wear all types of extensions – but some methods are of course a better match than others.

The best semi-permanent extensions for thick, coarse hair:

With the braid method, you can easily install a lot of hair without it taking up your entire scalp. You sew several layers of classic wefts on top of each other, which gives you a very natural result with natural volume.

And the method is gentle, durable and the wefts are easy to reuse.
